As I continue to grow as an artist I have been starting to experiment with color. When I was eleven years old I first saw the work of Dan Flavin at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas. His intricate florescent light installations have always intrigued me and somewhat inspired the creative thought process behind this new project.
Since I began my career I have continued to be influenced by shape, form and repetition.
Over the past few months I have been sketching florescent light tubes with different aspects of form, shape and repetition. You can see some of my sketches below.
Last week I constructed my first florescent light fixture from wires, transformers and many trips to the hardware store. Using different colored florescent light tubes, I have started to photograph the fixture and wanted to share the beginning of this new work titled ‘Florescent Form’.
Let me know what you think…

Love these, so pure just color and form. Great when repeating too!
