As we enter the new year I have made some resolutions to create some fabulous new work. Though some of the projects are still top secret, the cat is out of the bag for one of them.
I have always been fascinated by the old photographs of swimming pools and the people around them. Julius Schulman’s iconic image of Palm Springs, as well as Bill Anderson, Herb Ritts and Slim Aarons pool work all come to mind (see below).
I went on a cruise in 2010 that sparked the beginning of this new series and I have slowly been working on it since. The project is capturing the lifestyle and culture around swimming pools and beaches from above. So far I have taken images from hotel rooms, roof tops, and even helicopters trying to capture these intimate, yet wild moments.
The end of 2011 took me to Miami where I shot for two days and now the beginning of 2012 takes me to the island of Kauai and then to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to shoot more of this series. Below are a taste of some of the images so far… imagine them printed very large!
Excited to show more work in the coming weeks…

I also love old photographs of swimming pools and people around them. Also love old photographs of Palm Springs and Las Vegas. Can’t wait to see more of your pool and beach photos. Great work.
