Today we are thrilled to announce the official release of my first ever collaboration! Last Fall I was approached by the Men’s luxury resort-wear brand, Orlebar Brown, to collaborate and create a special edition of swim trunks featuring photographs from my beach series, A la Plage.
In January of this year, I went to London to meet with the owner of Orlebar Brown, Adam Brown, and was able to see the three sample bathing suits. In the collaboration we agreed to have my signature placed on the tag in the back of the bathing suits, as well as a ‘hanging tag’ that has information about myself and how the images were created from door-less helicopters.
At first they were only going to be sold on Orlebar Brown’s website, but after they took them to Paris Market in February, they were picked up by over 30 leading department stores and boutiques around the world! They are now for sale at such stores as Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Fred Segal, and many more- to see a complete global list of stores, click here. There now has been a lot of amazing press coverage but my favorite was the write-up they garnered earlier this summer in Details Magazine.
This week I stopped in London on my way to Italy and was able to see the shorts for sale in the Orlebar Brown stores across London as well as in Harrods. It truly is an incredibly feeling to see your images transformed into wearable art. I really love OB’s passion for resort and beach culture and couldn’t be happier with this beautiful product: each bathing suit is hand stitched from 27 pieces of fabric.
Below are some images I have captured throughout this journey and I do hope you get to see a pair in person and possibly get your hands on one to wear this summer!
